To his 200th anniversary the museums shows- in cooperation with Altenburg Castle – an exhibition about the 19th century portrait painter Friedrich Mascher (1816-1880). Mascher painted rich farmers, often in pastel. The exhibition shows paintings of farmers and farms and gives and overview of the farmer’s culture in the Altenburg region of the 19th century.
