In Posterstein you find a lot of historical half-timbered houses, ‘Auenhof’ is one of them.

Posterstein with its half-timbered houses invites you to take a walk. Every year a ‘Soap box derby’ for young and old fans from all over
Germany takes place. The garden of the ‘Auenhof’ is one station of the farmer’s garden route. Several cycle paths run through Posterstein. You can ride via the water adventure path along the river Sprotte to Nöbdenitz. There you should admire the 1000 year-old oak tree, which houses the grave of Hans Wilhelm von Thümmel (a minister from Altenburg, 1744-1824) under its roots. The castles Tannenfeld and Löbichau are nearby. There are hotels, restaurants and holiday flats in Posterstein and the surrounding villages – for example restaurant and hotel Elegant-Hotel “Zur Burg”, restaurant “Deftige Pfanne” and the artist’s farm ‘Auenhof’.
